Sons of an older Cosmos
SONS OF AN OLDER COSMOS - An evening of Ritual Musick
(First time live in Germany)
The Finnish mystics of Tervahäät have been working together with ritualistic folk and ambient music since 2008. Their style varies from calm folk ballads to strumming noble neofolk, and from freezing ritual music atmospheres to rough industrial music. Broad range of instrumentation is equally wide-ranged as the various styles of vocals, they use warm and deep lullaby styles, powerful clean folksongs, freezing blackened shrieks and otherwordly voices and spoken words reeking of death.
SARDH had been found in 1987 as a group of experimental audio-visual artists. It was strongly rooted in the Dresden improvisation-scene as a fusion of musicians and painters.
The music of SARDH is a not comprehensible, dark, threatening mystic and slow Hybrid. On the essence reduced arrangements with subtle ultra deep bass, monolithic rhythms, eruptive accents, hypnotic textures, Dadaism near word formations. A Wall of dystopian sounds, thrilling, almost nerve-rending. Finally it all can end in ecstasy. By monotony!
*ATZMANN ZOUBAR (DE)
Plant witchcraft and magical plants, phytoritualistics, superstition and psychedelic botany – these terms describe the thematic framework of the project Atzmann Zoubar, which was founded by K.Makiri in 2005. The sound is a mixture of ritual industrial and a quirky nature mysticism. The slowly evolving tracks grow like roots into the mind, finally pervading the listener completely.
*ANEMONE TUBE (DE)
Anemone Tube was founded 1996 in South-Germany; since 2010 based in Berlin. The audio works of Anemone Tube are a unique blend of dark ambient, noise, industrial and sound-art with a strong psychogenic impact. The use of constantly shifting and altering sounds and moods is possibly one of the most intriguing things about the audio creations of Anemone Tube. Since 2007 Anemone Tube has been working on "The Suicide Series". To this field recordings made in China and Japan build a conceptional basis. In a poetic way Anemone Tube combines analytical realism of the phenomenal world with buddhist psychology ambiguous rhetoric influenced by the works of Pier Paolo Pasolini, H.P. Lovecraft, J.G. Ballard and Hayao Miyazaki.
Anemone Tube has released albums on Auf Abwegen, The Epicurean, Raubbau/ant-zen, Peripheral Records, Silken Tofu, Black Horizons and La Esencia.
* 若潭 ruò tán (CHN)
(First time live in Berlin)
Chinese musician born in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province and lives in France now. Performing in different forms: noise, ambient, drone, black metal, field recording, tribal, ritual, etc. Deeply rooted in traditional Asian shamanic ceremony music, he develops his sound in a proper way by using overtone vocals,
drone synthesizer / effect pedals and various acoustic instruments like bells, metal pieces, flute, mouth harp, wood percussions and shamanic drums. His works remind us the ancient spirit of the wild nature but also mixed with a post-industrial music form. It’s hard to define the style, which is not important for him. Influences include the cult Chinese ritual / dark ambient project Enimite (Enmity), Japanese tribal / industrial / power electronic projects Vasilisk & Grim but also some experimental, traditional electronic and harsh noise artists like Mai Mai Mai, Steve Roach, Mei Zhiyong and Merzbow.
He also runs the label WV Sorcerer Productions.
